ICE FISHING TOURNEY UPDATES: The dates of the Canadohta Lake ice tourney have moved.  The tourney will still be a two-day tourney, but it will now be held Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21, 2016, pending good ice.  Stay tuned to Timberlandbait.com for the latest updates on the Canadohta Ice Tourney.  Please see details below and on the Canadohta Ice Fishing page for price, registration info and rules.  We are sorry, but there will not be a Conneaut ice tourney this year due to no ice on Conneaut as of the time of this writing.

NEW BAIT SHOP HOURS: With reports of good ice on various local lakes, the bait shop is open during the week (weekdays) by appointment only.  But, you must call the bait shop or Jerry's cell to arrange an appointment. On weekends after the first good ice, the bait shop will be open, again, assuming there is good ice. Please call the bait shop at 814-694-FISH and listen to the answering machine for the hours of operation for that day/week. You may also call Jerry's cell 814-882-8369. MORE INFO

The Classic Ice Fishing Joke

A man wakes up early one morning to go ice fishing. He dresses warmly, and heads out onto the ice with his tent, his ice auger, his fishing rods, and his sittin’ bucket, and begins to auger a hole in the ice. After just a few seconds of drilling with the auger a big booming voice from above intones: “THERE  ARE  NO  FISH  UNDER  THE  ICE HERE!” The man looks around and, not being a very religious man, resumes drilling his hole in the ice. Again, he hears the thunderous voice: “THERE  ARE  NO  FISH  UNDER  THE  ICE  HERE!” Becoming a little spooked, the man packs up his gear and moves 30 feet from where he was and begins making a new hole in the ice. “THERE  ARE  NO  FISH  UNDER  THE  ICE  HERE  EITHER!” the voice thunders again.

The man looks up, “God, is that you?”

The voice responds “NO,  IT’S  THE  MANAGER  OF  THE  ICE  RINK!!”
